Mother nature was bound and determined to rain on Jessica and Austin’s engagement session. We had been rained out twice already and with the wedding this Saturday, we were running out of time. On our 3rd date, the skies looked promising with a bright blue sky and white fluffy clouds for miles. It wasn’t long until those white fluffy clouds turned into dark storm clouds flashing with lighting and clearing out the park with the roaring thunder. We literally were 11 minutes into our session when the rains started. The good news from all of this is that Jessica and Austin were naturals in front of the camera. They were so excited we were finally here and took advantage of every second. The laughs, giggles, big and little smiles shone bright through the darkening sky. Even in those quick 11 minutes, we had so many incredible shots. So while the heavens opened and the flood gates broke, Jessica and Austin changed into outfit number two. While doing so, I check the radar and see a break coming in the down pour. Bingo.
The rain stops and with the park nearly cleared we head back out to one of my favorite spots. It’s a paved portion of the tallest hill in the park. With moss hanging from the trees, the pavement wet and reflective created a picture perfect opportunity we wouldn’t have had, had it not rained. Even though the light is fading quickly, it’s gorgeous light. As Jessica mentioned, “mother nature knew she owed us big”.
Jessica and Austin,
Your love for each other is profound and your fun spirits are intoxicating. You both are such a joy to be around and I cannot wait for Saturday!
