Desiree and I met for the first time at a bridal shower I was photographing, and I have to admit. I crossed my fingers and prayed that when she was ready to walk down the aisle, I would be the one capturing it. With gorgeous red hair and big green eyes, I knew she would make a stunning bride.
The day finally came that she called me to tell me she was engaged and wanted to meet to chat about wedding photography. With pure excitement, we met up to talk about her March 24, 2018 wedding date. Now, a little back story….we met up in early fall of 2016. Normally I don’t take on weddings that far in advanced, but upon hearing the reason for her date selection, I couldn’t say no. (honestly, there really wasn’t much keeping me from saying yes to photographing her wedding)
You see, her brother passed on March 24 and she was determined to bring a joyful memory to this day. She wanted to dedicate her wedding day to a brother she loved so deeply. Desiree, not only did you bring a new memory to this day, but a memory full of life, love and laughter.
Desiree and Mike,
First, daaaaaaang girl and your dress! WOWZA! I mean seriously….I’ve been capturing weddings for 15 years and your dress knocked me off my feet. Second, thank you. Thank you for being so kind on the day we met and for saying yes to stepping in front of my camera. I had been looking forward to your wedding day for nearly two years and it was worth every waking second. Mike…I know we’re not close, but thank you for loving Desiree the way you do. Thank you for looking at her with such tender care and treating her the same. Oh…and thank you for crying as she walked down the aisle. 😉 And a quick shout out to the best wedding hashtag: #blondeandgingermetontinder (heart!)
