After viewing another engagement session at Philippe Park, Kristy immediate knew this is where she wanted to go for her session. She emailed me stating “I really love the pictures from Philippe Park! I love the pictures on the road between the overhanging trees!” Philippe Park it is!
Watching the radar closely all day, Kristy and I made the decision we would do everything in our power to make this session happen. There are a lot of things to consider when shooting in the rain. Things like…you won’t have sunny blue skies in your images, your hair is probably going to frizz and much more. While it’s not the most ideal, the success of any photo session all about how you respond to uncontrollable situations.
Kristy and Luis made the best of the of the insane Florida storms by laughing through the entire session. It was fun to run out, grab a bunch of images, then run into a shelter for cover. When the lighting cracks right above your head, you have a tendency to move instantly. lol In the midst of moving quick from one spot to another, we quickly realized that we left an umbrella at the top of the hill. Oops!
While waiting for the down pour to pass so we could retrieve it, we notice a couple walking down the hill with the umbrella! They had their arms wrapped around one another and even posed for a few iphone photos with it at a nearby picnic table. It was so sweet to see them making the most of their discovery, courtesy of Kristy and Luis. Personally I think Kristy and Luis’ fun loving, life enjoying energy spilled out of the umbrella when these strangers lifted it over their heads. As Luis said “paying it forward”.
Oh, and as if it couldn’t get any better, there are two other souls that made this session complete! Luis’ son, Sito and their 1 year old puppy Duke! Sito, you rocked it and I can’t wait to watch you party in March!
Kristy and Luis,
I cannot express how much fun I had with you both, Sito and Duke! This will surely be an engagement session to remember, filled with fun stories to tell for a life time! Thank you for all the laughs, embraces and sharing your fun love for me to capture! You all have me so excited for your Innisbrook wedding next March!
