There is a lot of work that goes into planning an Indian wedding, which takes a village to put together. In the end, it can take several weeks (or even months sometimes) to make final decisions on selecting the perfect wedding vendor to work with.
Monica and Ravi were referred to me by Eventrics Weddings and we hit it off right away. (Brittany is pretty darn good with matching up her clients personalities with vendors to best suit them.) Even still, Monica and Ravi were hesitant to commit due to their budget. So, they took their time, did some research, took a leap of faith and said yes to stepping in front of my camera.
Working with Monica and Ravi was a dream and I wish we could do it all over again. After the wedding, I asked the newly weds to share their experience, what helped them the most and give advice to other’s planning a wedding…Indian or not. Here’s what they had to say:
The most helpful advice was to schedule a makeup trial for the engagement session to help gauge our experience with the makeup artist and company.
We also found it more convincing to incorporate a first look into our wedding day.
Scheduling a makeup trial for the engagement session really me as a bride tweak my hair and makeup experience for the better and made our pictures look much better!
The first look was perfect! Though we were hesitant at first about missing that initial reaction, it didn’t change the experience at all during our wedding day. We were so much happier to have a few minutes alone to see each other first and get some amazing pictures before everything started. We were equally excited to see each other walking down the aisle and to the mandap.
Enjoy the moments – it really does all go by just as fast as everyone says it does! Just when it seems like the planning process will never end, the wedding day or weekend or week goes by and you’re on the other side of it wishing you could go back and do it again. Luckily, you’ll have Kimberly’s amazing pictures to help you relive it!
Invest in the things that are important to you and in a good team of professionals that you can trust. Not having to worry about missing parts or timelines or arrangements hair/ makeup glitches during the wedding is worth more than the money you would save going with someone less expensive. Hiring a great wedding planner/ team was by far one of the best things we did from the start.
“Working with Kimberly has been like working with an old friend. From the day we met for our engagement shoot, she made us feel comfortable and relaxed, which clearly reflected in our pictures. She helped us embrace who we are in the moment, rather than try to create elaborate, staged images. But she is also adventurous and willing to try new locations or styles or props (bubbles in our case!). She was always open to our feedback and adjusted without hesitation. She provided us with great advice along the way – not just for our photos but for all aspects of our wedding.
Her experience and expertise with Indian weddings clearly showed during our wedding weekend. She knew how to perfectly capture all of the smallest details, family traditions and precious rituals. Our families were just at ease with her and her team as we were from the start. All group portraits were so well organized and orchestrated – everyone was thoroughly impressed. Dad even got her on the dance floor at the end!
We are still baffled by how quickly she compiled and edited the thousands of images taken, and got them back to us within weeks of our event.
We cannot praise Kimberly enough. She is professional, sincere, and straightforward. She is incredibly enthusiastic and kind. Her passion for her work glows in all of her images. Our wedding weekend will forever bring us joy, and a large part of that is because of Kimberly.”
